Auto Tab Snapshots

Auto snapshot functionality can automatically save your browsing sessions in specific situations, ensuring important data won’t be lost without manual operation.

When you use RabbitPair’s clear tabs feature, the system will automatically create a snapshot before executing the clear operation to prevent accidental loss of important tabs.

When using AI smart grouping functionality, the system will create a snapshot of the current state before reorganizing tabs, ensuring you can restore to the pre-grouping state at any time.

When the browser session is detected to have significant changes, the system will automatically create a snapshot after a 60-second delay. This ensures that frequent minor changes won’t generate too many snapshots.

When the browser restarts, the system will check the session state from the last closure and create a snapshot to save the pre-startup state as needed.

The system will intelligently analyze the current session state and decide whether to create auto snapshots based on the following conditions:

  • Auto-Creation Minimum Tab Count: Only when the number of tabs exceeds this value will auto snapshots be created
  • Tab Difference Threshold: Create snapshots when tab count changes reach this value

You can modify these configurations in “Settings Page - Snapshot Settings”.

In the extension settings, you can configure the following auto snapshot options:

Control whether to enable the auto snapshot feature.

Set the minimum tab count threshold to trigger auto snapshots.

Set the tab change count to trigger auto snapshots.

Control whether to show session recovery prompt when browser starts.

Set the maximum number of snapshots the system retains (requires premium version).

Enable auto cleanup of expired snapshots feature (requires premium version).

Set the day threshold for auto cleanup of snapshots (requires premium version).

Configure URL patterns not included in snapshots (requires premium version).

Auto-created snapshots will be marked with special icons in the tab snapshot management page, where you can:

  • View auto snapshot creation time and trigger reason

  • Convert auto snapshots to manual snapshots for long-term preservation

  • Set cleanup rules for auto snapshots

  • Batch manage multiple auto snapshots
